Dr. João Lagoas Gomes

Dr. João Lagoas Gomes is a Rheumatologist dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system, in particular autoimmune diseases, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and fibromyalgia. He coordinates the rheumatology techniques clinic at the Tâmega e Sousa Local Health Unit and is responsible for the Rheumatology consultation at Instituto de Neurociências, in Porto. In addition to his clinical practice, he is involved in numerous medical education and scientific initiatives. He currently serves on the board of the Portuguese Society of Rheumatology, where he works to advance the specialty with the goal of improving the quality of life of people with rheumatic disease.
